What to Expect:

The 52nd & Last Chili Cookoff will take place on Saturday, November 15, at a new location this year! Southfork Ranch is an iconic Texas spot, famously known as the home of the TV show Dallas. All Southwest Cohearts, plus up to four guests each, are invited to attend this family-friendly event. Make sure you register to attend!

 

This year’s Chili Cookoff will include bingo, fun activities, games, and (of course) bean-free chili!  Teams will take part in a fierce but friendly competition in three categories: Chef’s Choice, People’s Choice, and Showmanship. Share your Chili Cookoff photos on the SWA Culture Facebook page or in our SWA Pics Viva Engage Community using the hashtag #SouthwestChiliCookoff.

Event SCHEDULE:

Saturday, November 15 | 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

10:00 a.m. | Event begins

  • Bring your Employee ID to show the parking attendants!
  • Chili is served! Be sure to vote for your favorite.
  • Outdoor games, petting zoo, face painting, and bars open
  • Bingo cards for sale (cash only)

 

11:00 a.m. | Bingo begins

It’s game time! Settle in for a lively round (or two) of bingo fun.

 

12:00 p.m. | Chef's Choice Judging Booth

See which team can win over the judges with flavor, creativity, and a little chili magic.

 

1:30 p.m. | Voting for People's Choice and Showmanship closes

Cast your electronic vote! Every vote helps determine this year's winners.

 

2:00 p.m. | Chili winners are announced 

Come to the Oil Barrons Ballroom to celebrate with the Teams as we reveal who’s taking home the bragging rights (and trophies) this year.

 

3:00 p.m. | Event ends

We’ll wrap up the day full of food, fun, and memories—thank you for being part of this special tradition!

Event Venue:

We’re at a new venue this year! Southfork Ranch is a legendary Texas landmark set on beautiful, wide-open pastures just north of Dallas at 3700 Hogge Dr, Parker, TX 75002. Known as the iconic home of the TV show Dallas, this ranch offers plenty of space and classic charm. Get ready to enjoy a day full of chili tasting, fun games, bingo, face painting, and even a petting zoo — all in true Texas style! You can also take a free tour of the Southfork Mansion and step inside this famous Dallas landmark.

Bingo for a cause:

To support fellow Employees during times of hardship, bingo proceeds will be donated to the Coheart Relief Fund.

 

Bingo will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Those who are interested in participating can purchase Bingo cards beginning at 10:00 a.m. Please note that Bingo card sales are cash only.

 

Food & Beverage:

Chili will obviously be the main dish, but other concessions will be available to purchase from the venue (pizza, nachos, hot dogs, chicken tenders, and grilled cheese sandwiches). There will be a large variety of complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available—outside beverages are not permitted.
