Keynote Speakers

Elizabeth Bryant is the Senior Vice President & Chief People Officer at Southwest Airlines. She provides Executive Leadership for People (Human Resources), Talent & Leadership Development, Total Rewards, and Southwest Airlines University. Bryant is committed to serving the People and preserving the Culture of Southwest Airlines. Since joining Southwest in 1997, she's led many initiatives, including training centralization, performance management, SAP implementation, and AirTran Integration.

Elizabeth is passionate about women in leadership and dedicates her time to mentoring and sponsoring bright talent within and outside Southwest. In addition, Elizabeth serves on the Board of Directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Board of Trustees at Hawaii Pacific University. She previously served as a member of the Board of Visitors at The Catholic University of America School of Business and Economics.

Elizabeth graduated with a bachelor's degree in communication studies from California State University, Sacramento. She also holds a master's degree in speech communication from Indiana University. Elizabeth and her husband, Torry, live in Dallas and are the proud parents of four children.

Kayce Ford serves as Vice President, Technology – People & Finance for Southwest Airlines. In this role, she is responsible for managing the business relationships and integration of business and technology strategy for People & Communications, Finance, Supply Chain, Internal Audit, Legal, Real Estate and Corporate Strategy. Prior to joining Southwest Airlines as Technology Director of Customer Support & Services/Customer Relations (CS&S/CR) in 2017, Kayce spent 18 years with Accenture in both management and technology consulting. Kayce studied at Baylor University where she now has served on the Baylor Alumni Board of Advocates for ten years, two of which she served on the executive committee. Kayce and her husband Neal reside in Dallas, TX with their two children Elliott and Cooper.

Victoria Slavic is currently a manager for Southwest Business Technology and the communications chair for Women@SWA. She joined Southwest in 2017, holding several roles on various technology teams before assuming her current role in 2022. She is passionate about technology that serves Southwest’s Customers and People, striving to make processes as seamless as possible. She’s been engaged in the legendary Southwest Culture since day 1, eventually co-leading the Technology culture committee.  

 

Victoria has a Psychology degree from the University of Dallas. She and her husband, Jonathan, have an almost 4 year old son and are expecting their second child in August.

Laura Weigler is a Senior Technology Consultant at Southwest Airlines (SWA) working with the Network Operations Center (NOC).  She has been part of the SWA family for 24 years working in Technology supporting southwest.com, Revenue Management and Network Planning before moving over to the NOC.  She has been involved throughout Southwest serving in Emergency Response leadership for over 20 years, chairing numerous Culture Committees, serving as the head of the Dallas Charitable Giving Board, and serving in leadership for Women@SWA.  Laura has a Bachelors and master’s in public administration and has won both the President’s Award and Winning Spirit Award, the top two awards at Southwest Airlines.  She is passionate about making a difference by serving others, implementing new Technology to help SWA Customers and Employees, and mentoring others to help them grow.

Laura and her husband Sean have four children: a biological son and three adopted daughters.  They adopted their oldest daughter fifteen years ago at the age of two and unexpectedly adopted their youngest two girls two years ago after the loss of a co-heart at Southwest.  The girls’ father lost his wife five years ago and he unexpectedly passed away two years ago leaving two young girls without parents.  The Weiglers felt strongly that the girls were supposed to be a part of the family and they are now legally #weiglerpartyofsix!  The family enjoys traveling together, being involved in their church, and spending time with family and friends. 

Eric has spent 19 years in the airline space, having worked at Frontier, AirTran and now Southwest. His career began in revenue management, but most of that time has been spent in distribution and retailing strategy. 

After playing a role in the merger of AirTran into Southwest, Eric joined Southwest Corporate Sales in 2014. Today, Eric is part of the growing Southwest Business Team where he leads the B2B channel strategy and travel agency relations team. 

In his personal time Eric enjoys coaching his two daughters’ soccer teams and traveling the Southwest network with his family, especially to his home state of Colorado. 

Kristi Owens is responsible for developing and executing all Leadership and Employee 
development activities at Southwest Airlines as the Vice President Talent & Leadership 
Development. By providing strategic direction for learning and development, organizational 
development, and talent management efforts, Kristi contributes to enhancing the airline's 
pipeline of Leaders and Employees.
More than 20 years ago, Kristi's Southwest journey began as an Intern before she accepted a 
full-time role in Southwest's Technology Department. Kristi then transitioned her skills to the 
University for People (U4P), which eventually became Southwest Airlines University (SWA U), 
a centralized area of the airline that designs, develops, and delivers training for all Customerfacing Employees to learn in realistic environments through various modalities. She's a 
product of the development and growth opportunities that the Company offers to its People. 
During her tenure, Kristi led several initiatives, including training, change, and 
communication efforts related to the SAP implementation; standing up SWA U; the launch of 
the High Impact Development Portfolio; the Southwest Learning Center; Now Onboarding 
(New Hire onboarding program); Mentor and Sponsorship Programs; and Leadership 
Recurrent Training. Passionate about Southwest's learning culture, Kristi wants to ensure 
Employees and Leaders understand how the Company supports them through various 
development offerings.
Kristi graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in management 
information systems and a minor in management. She and her husband, Les, have three 
beautiful children, Sutton, Harper, and Elle. Kristi enjoys spending time with her family, 
traveling, reading, and cooking/baking.

Matt Muehleisen is currently serving as the Leader of a newly created role, where he will be responsible to coordinating operational planning for Southwest Airlines prior to day of departure and will oversee support for the NOC through Technology Product Planning, Engineering, and Strategy.  His Teams help deliver and support increased operational resiliency and overall operational planning, while also building the next generation roadmap for the NOC. 

 

Matt joined Southwest in 2001 in the Schedule and Network Planning Organization after spending sometime at both United Airlines and Flexjet.  His previous roles at Southwest include Future and Current Schedules, Schedule Design, Optimization, Operations Planning, and Network Initiatives.  Matt is a change Leader who led the Network Initiatives Team within Network Planning as they worked to develop and implement industry leading Network Planning software in partnership with Amadeus.   

 

Matt graduated from the Oklahoma State University with a degree in Aviation Management.  He holds a Commercial pilot rating.  Matt is married to Windy and they are the proud parents of four amazing girls –Riley (14), Sydney (11), Reagan (11) and Campbell (8).  In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and taking the girls to all of their activities.  As a family, they also enjoy traveling and spending weekends in Oklahoma.
